Miss Muncy’s 2nd graders kicked off Unit 4: “Our Planet: Cycles in Nature” by exploring daytime and nighttime—illustrating, writing, and discovering how they’re alike and different. To make learning even sweeter, they used Oreos to represent the sun and the moon!☀️🍪🌙🌎

To wrap up Unit 2 of our CKLA Knowledge curriculum about the Five Senses, students in Mrs. Solly’s class became Five Senses Detectives! 🕵️‍♂️ We investigated the world around us through a variety of fun activities - taste testing, an outdoor scavenger hunt, identifying secret smells, touching mystery items, and listening to hidden sounds. 👀👂👃👅✋ Needless to say, we discovered we have some superb detectives in Room K04! 🌟

Our first graders had a wonderful day learning and exploring at Winton Woods Equestrian Center. Students enjoyed a wagon ride, meeting a pony, petting goats and sheep, learning about a chicken, walking through the garden, and choosing a pumpkin to take home.🚜🐑🐓

After our learning activities, we wrapped up the day with time on the playground and exploring more of the farm. It was a memorable day full of hands-on learning and fun!🫶🏼🤩
